Sports Day 2020
Koolkoppe 2020
The Workshop’s very first production was staged during the first term of 2020. The production was an Epic theatre play called, “Koolkoppe”, written by Gaie Houston and directed by Elizabeth Maritz. Epic theatre (sometimes also referred to as didactic theatre) is theatre that is primarily focussed on instructing or teaching.
Watermelon Feast 2020
Each year this event provides a lot of fun. Our new Grade 8 learners get to know each other better and have the opportunity to enjoy the day with our matriculants.
Junior Prize Giving 2020
With our annual prize givings, Voortrekker High School has the opportunity to give the Vorie learners the honour they deserve after a year of hard work.
Vories Can Cook 2019
Our Consumer Studies learners from Grade 10 – 12 participate in this competition. They can invite guests to attend the evening. The participants are divided into groups and each group prepares and servse a three-course meal to the guests. Judges are also invited and they select the respective prize winners at the end of the evening.
Boarding Dinner 2019
Every year the boarders look forward to this event at the end of the year. The grade 11 parents and boarding staff put a lot of effort into making this event a feast for the learners. The chosen theme also contributes to an outstanding event. The highlight of the evening is always the announcement of the boarding head prefects for 2020, as well as the most versatile hostel boy and girl.
Bridge Concert 2019
This event is a longstanding tradition at Voortrekker High School and presents many opportunities for the learners to grow. Learners are given the chance to perform their respective musical talents in front of an audience on the school’s bridge with exceptional acoustics.
Mr and Miss Vorie 2019
The Mr and Miss Vorie pageant is a social event that unifies the school and its learners. Learners in grade 9 – 12 are given the opportunity to enter. The school hall is usually packed with a Vorie audience. The judges select the winners of Mr and Miss Vorie as well as 1st and 2nd Prince and Princess, Mr and Miss Personality and Mr and Miss Photogenic.
Matric Dance 2019
If there is one evening that every matriculant looks forward to, it is the matric farewell. This is surely, apart from your wedding day, the longest-planned event. This spectacular event is an annual event where the matriculants have the opportunity to unite and celebrate as a Vorie family.
Sports Awards 2019
The annual Sports Awards allows us to recognise and honour our learners who have excelled in various sporting codes throughout the year.
Science Evening 2019
This evening provides a lot of excitement and the Vorie participants have the privilege to broaden their experience as they perform their experiments in front of an audience.
